Frequently Asked Questions

PDGA-Legal Customs ✅

Our dyes and hot foils are tournament legal. Per the PDGA Official Rules of Disc Golf, Rule 813.01 (Illegal Disc), allowed modifications after production include “marking with dye” and “applying graphics via hot stamp, ink printing, or dye that adheres to the approved specifications for that disc model.” Since our work doesn't change a disc's original flight characteristics or add detectable thickness, your custom stays competition legal.

How does ordering work?+

Browse the shop, tap a disc you like, check off the customization options you want (dye, hot foil, etc.), and send a request with your contact info. We'll reach out to confirm details, design, and payment before any work begins.

Is the price on the site final?+

The disc price plus the options you pick gives you an estimated total. Complex custom artwork may adjust the final quote — we'll always confirm with you first.

What's the difference between a dye and a hot foil?+

A dye soaks color into the plastic itself, so it won't wear off the way ink does. A hot foil is a metallic foil stamp pressed into the disc for a shiny, eye-catching accent. Many discs combine both.

Will dyeing affect how the disc flies?+

No. Dyeing changes the color, not the plastic's weight or flight characteristics, so your disc flies exactly the same.

Are dyed and hot-foiled discs PDGA tournament legal?+

Yes. Under PDGA Official Rule 813.01 (Illegal Disc), allowed modifications after production include marking with dye, and applying graphics via hot stamp, ink printing, or dye that adheres to the approved specifications for that disc model. Because our dyes and hot foils don't alter a disc's original flight characteristics or add detectable thickness, your custom stays tournament legal. See the highlighted note at the top of this page for the official rule link.

How long does a custom take?+

Most customs are finished within 1–2 weeks depending on the design and current queue. We'll give you a timeframe when we confirm your order.

Can I send my own disc to be dyed?+

Often yes! Mention it in your request message and we'll let you know what's possible.

How do I pay?+

After we confirm the details of your custom, we accept payment by PayPal or Venmo. You can also email us anytime at tpotsdyes@gmail.com. Nothing is charged through this website automatically — we'll confirm the final total with you first.
